Alex Montagu
Mr. Montagu started his career in 1991 at Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP in New York City. After S&C, he established MontaguLaw, focusing on intellectual property law, international commercial transactions and new media commercial and corporate law. His clients range from startup enterprises to Fortune 500 companies and his practice encompasses a variety of industries such as culinary, financial services, publishing and cosmetics. Mr. Montagu also serves as General Counsel to a number of companies where he is responsible for advising on all aspects of his clients’ legal affairs including managing litigation, drafting and negotiating agreements and managing the companies’ intellectual property portfolios.
In addition, Mr. Montagu has been an arbitrator on a number of cases before the International Chamber of Commerce. He is also is a regular speaker at international conferences on a wide variety of intellectual property, business and legal matters.
Mr. Montagu received his J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, graduating summa cum laude. He also has a B.A. and M.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge where he received Double First Class Honours.
Ken Aldous - Of Counsel
Mr. Aldous is an experienced attorney, trial lawyer and arbitrator. Qualified to practice in both the U.S. and the UK, Mr. Aldous has represented a wide range of diverse interests in complex litigation before various federal and state courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitration. For over a decade, Mr. Aldous developed and honed his legal skills at Proskauer Rose LLP, and later was a Partner in the New York office of London-based Mishcon de Reya, focusing his general litigation practice on international, multi-jurisdictional and cross-border dispute resolution. He also gained considerable experience working on secondment as the Head of Litigation for BT Americas Inc. (a subsidiary of British Telecommunications plc) and as Litigation Counsel for NYSE Euronext.
Mr. Aldous's activities in both private and in-house practice have included a varied array of commercial matters and disputes, including representations and consultations involving antitrust/competition law; telecommunications law; securities litigation; trade-secret, copyright/trademark and other forms of intellectual property protection; non-compete and employment-related issues; insurance; sports law; legal ethics; and other commercial disputes. He also has also served as an arbitrator and maintains an active pro-bono caseload.
Mr. Aldous received his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Law, with merit, from King's College London. In addition to a B.A., summa cum laude, from Oral Roberts University, Mr. Aldous holds degrees in history from The University at Albany-SUNY and Oxford University.
